An efficient Cu/functionalized graphene oxide catalyst for synthesis of 5-substituted 1H-tetrazoles

The copper nanoparticles (Cu NPs) and amide functionalized graphene oxide (Cu-Amd-RGO) catalyst were prepared. This prepared catalyst (Cu-Amd-RGO) used for the synthesis of tetrazole derivatives. The catalyst (Cu-Amd-RGO) was characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD). The average particle size of Cu was found to be 7.6 nm. The Cu-Amd-RGO catalyst exhibited excellent catalytic activity and recyclability for synthesis of tetrazoles.

Application of analytical pyrolysis to gain insights into proteins of condensed corn distillers solubles from selective milling technology

Present study evaluates the analytical pyrolysis to unravel the pyrolysate compounds (PyCs), protein & glycosylation indicators in a protein fraction (PF) from condensed corn distillers solubles (CCDS) of novel selective milling technology. Besides, quadratic and linear corre-lations using protein content (%) by Dumas method, toluene signature PyC, and elemental nitrogen (%) were developed. Pyrolysis was performed at temperature of 400 degrees C, where most of the PyCs released from proteins in a lignin-free PF instead of other constituents. The p cresol and methyl 9,12-octadecadienoate were found with the highest area% of 3.2 and 19.3 in PF and CCDS, respectively. Protein derived PyCs such as nitrogen heterocyclics, amines & amides and nitriles were examined 63.93%, 61.90% and 70% greater in PF than CCDS. Moreover, the indicators of protein were toluene, p-cresol, phenol, phenylacetonitrile, 4vinylphenol, whereas that of glycosylated protein were methyl mercaptan, furan derivatives, and hexahydro-3-(phenylmethyl) pyrrolo [1, 2 a] pyrazine-1,4-dione. The absence of diketopiperazines provided evidence of crosslinking and aggregation of protein. The values of the protein content obtained from the quadratic model and Dumas method were found to be statistically non-significant (p < 0.05) imply the model validity. Enhanced energy density of poly(arylene ether nitriles) composites filled with surface engineered BaTiO3 nanoparticles

The introduction of nano-sized BaTiO3 (BT) into polymer host matrices brings about promising dielectric and energy storage properties. However, pristine BT tends to aggregate and is difficult to be compatible with polymer matrices, thus requiring surface modification of BT nanoparticles. In this work, gamma-aminopropyl triethoxysilane (KH550) was grafted onto the surface of BT as a shell and amino-functionalized core-shell KH550@BT nanoparticles have been successfully prepared. Thereafter, poly(arylene ether nitrile) (PEN) has been chosen as polymer matrix due to its excellent thermal properties, and xKH550@BT/(1-x)PEN composite films were prepared by solution casting film formation method. The energy density of KH550@BTIPEN composites with 30 wt.% filler loading is 1.30 J cm(-3) (eta = 61.32 %) at 150 MV m(-1), more than 36.84 % increase when compared with pristine PEN polymer (0.95 J cm(-3) at 170 MV m(-1)). Effect of Particle Wettability and Particle Concentration on the Enzymatic Dehydration of n-Octanaloxime in Pickering Emulsions

Pickering emulsion systems have emerged as platforms for the synthesis of organic molecules in biphasic biocatalysis. Herein, the catalytic performance was evaluated for biotransformation using whole cells exemplified for the dehydration of n-octanaloxime to n-octanenitrile catalysed by an aldoxime dehydratase (OxdB) overexpressed in E. coli. This study was carried out in Pickering emulsions stabilised solely with silica particles of different hydrophobicity. We correlate, for the first time, the properties of the emulsions with the conversion of the reaction, thus gaining an insight into the impact of the particle wettability and particle concentration. When comparing two emulsions of different type with similar stability and droplet diameter, the oil-in-water (o/w) system displayed a higher conversion than the water-in-oil (w/o) system, despite the conversion in both cases being higher than that in a classic two-phase system. Furthermore, an increase in particle concentration prior to emulsification resulted in an increase of the interfacial area and hence a higher conversion.

Enhanced thermal conductivity of carboxyl nitrile butadiene rubber composites with low-cost poly(catechol/polyamine) modified Al2O3 via biomimetic method

With the miniaturization, integration, and functionalization of the electronic components, heat dissipation in the electronic devices has become a challenging issue. Owing to high polarity, carboxyl nitrile butadiene rubber (XNBR) is usually employed as a dielectric material in the electronic devices. However, low thermal conductivity of XNBR hardly satisfies the increasingly stricter demands for heat dissipation. Herein, we used low-cost poly (catechol/polyamine) (PCPA) to modify Al2O3 nanoparticles via biomimetic method for enhancing the interfacial interaction between the Al2O3 filler and XNBR. The ortho-polyphenols in catechol were oxidized into orthoquinone groups in the alkaline solution. Then, the ortho-quinone groups formed a cross-linked structure to obtain PCPA via the Michael addition or Schiff base reaction with amine. The process decreased the interfacial thermal resistance and phonon scattering, resulting in an enhanced thermal conductivity. When the Al2O3-PCPA nanoparticles content was 30 vol%, the thermal conductivity of XNBR based composites reached up to 0.51 W/ mK, which was 3.19 times that of pure XNBR (0.16 W/mK). The proposed method has potential applications in large scale production of thermally conductive composites in industries, such as electronic packaging materials and thermal management materials.

Diethyl (2-Amino-3-Cyano-4H-Chromen-4-yl)Phosphonate and Its Halogenated Derivatives as Effective Drug: A Theoretical and an Experimental Spectroscopic Study

Theoretical calculations of geometrical structure and vibrational wavenumbers, nuclear magnetic behavior and natural bond orbital(NBO) analysis were carried out using density functional (DFT/B3LYP) method with 6-311++G(d, p) as basis set for diethyl (2-amino-3-cyano-4H-chromen-4-yl)phosphonate (DACHP;1), diethyl (2-amino-6-chloro-3-cyano-4H-chromen-4-yl)phosphonate (CDACHP;2) and diethyl (2-amino-6-bromo-3-cyano-4H-chromen-4-yl)phosphonate (BDACHP;3). The global reactivity descriptors are also calculated and compared at same level of theory for all the three molecules. The FT-IR spectra of the compounds under study were measured in their condensed state. The calculated scaled vibrational wavenumbers were found in good agreement with the experimental wavenumbers. Hyper-conjugative interactions and charge delocalization within the molecules were studied using NBO analysis to explore their stability.H-1 NMR and(13)C NMR chemical shifts of the title molecules were calculated by the GIAO method and compared with experimental results, and good correlations were accomplished. Molecular docking studies were performed for all the three molecules (1-3)to elicit their possible potential as an effective drug.
